Real Estate for Seniors Classes

The Southeast Community College in Lincoln offers a broad array of helpful classes for senior citizens. Things like floral arrangements, gardening, photography and other creative hobby enhancements. They also offer classes regarding finances, computer skills, tax questions and others. One very useful class is scheduled in 2026, Real Estate Issues for Senior Citizens and their Families.

As we age our housing needs change. It may be a need to downsize, a change in our financial situations, or the need to find a home that better supports our health and lifestyle. The goal of the class will help seniors and their loved ones understand those changes and make smart, confident decisions about their real estate needs. This class is presented by a Seniors Real Estate Specialist with years of experience in working with senior citizens and their families.

The course will examine common challenges, explore practical options, and share helpful tips to make the process easier and less stressful.

Some of the subjects addressed:

✓ Why is Real Estate different for seniors?

✓ Motivations, emotions and logistical considerations.

✓ Downsizing vs RIGHT-sizing.

✓ Preparing to sell your home.

✓ Do garage sales work? And what to do with that piano!

✓ Financial considerations and estate planning.

✓ “Is there a banana in your desk?”

✓ and more!

The information presented is helpful whether you are just starting to plan-ahead or facing an immediate change. The class offers clear, supportive information to help seniors and their families navigate unfamiliar territory. Registration begins soon. Contact Southeast Community College Continuing Education at 402-471-3333
